#GoodNews: Student Saves School Staff Member Using CPR Learned In Class

The American Heart Association And The Anthem Foundation Debut Hands-Only CPR Kiosks At O'Hare And Four Other Airports

A teen in Arizona was paying attention in school when they taught CPR and he’s already used it to save a life. Metro Tech High School junior Salim Mohamed was working out in the gym when he and his coach saw a staff member lose color, start foaming at the mouth, and her eyes rolled back in her head.

Salim says she didn’t have a heartbeat, so he started chest compressions and continued for at least five minutes until she regained consciousness. The staffer is expected to make a full recovery thanks to his life-saving skills, but the teen remains modest, saying, “I’m just grateful I was there.”
